Many of you who know me well know that I have what some may consider to be a borderline unhealthy obsession with margaritas. Pre-baby, Allen and I were known to have "Margarita Night" approximately 8 nights a week. All of that came to a screeching halt when I got that little pink line almost a year ago. I really wasn't sure I could make it 9 whole months without the help of tequila, but I did it! Now that Natalie is ex utero, I can enjoy a margarita (two, tops) on occasion. Like tonight! I was so looking forward to this reunion that I was inspired to write the following free-verse poem:
Ode to Margarita
margarita, how I did miss you
your frothy goodness
shaken to perfection
sweet, sour, and salty
combined in beautiful harmony
a tequila symphony
i drink you down
sip after sip
of limey perfection
Laugh all you want. But if you've ever had one of Allen's top-shelf margaritas, you would understand.
